Phone With TV Tuner Available By Metro PCS

MetroPCS has started selling a phone that can receive TV signals, a concept usually met in phones sold in Asian countries but for over-the-air TV signals.

Metro PCS started selling the Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G for $459 on Friday. The phone has a built-in, antenna that can receive special TV signals, broadcast from regular TV towers for reception by cellphones and other small gadgets.

The phone receives Mobile DTV signals, which are transmissions of TV signals in lower resolution.

There are 120 Mobile DTV stations in the U.S.
