Funai Acquires TV-related Patents From IPG


Funai Electric Co., Ltd. has purchased a portfolio of 360 patents applicable to its television and related businesses from IPG Electronics.

Philips had previously transferred rights to those patents to IPG.

The patents are related to television, decorder and display processing technologies. The purchased patents include 180 United States patents and 180 patents from other countries. The patents can be used for products such as flat screen TVs, set-top boxes and DVR.
