Samsung Releases ChatON

Samsung today announced the market launch of ChatON, a free mobile communication service that allows users to communicate instantly using any web-enabled mobile phone.

ChatON enables users to communicate in multiple ways, allowing multimedia content and animated messages, as well as more conventional instant messages, to be shared with friends and family.

Today, Samsung launched the ChatON service, which will be available worldwide. Users can download ChatON for free through Samsung Apps or Android Market and use it on various mobile devices. ChatON will also be preloaded on to bada smartphones and selected feature phones from Samsung starting October, and will be available for other platforms by the end of 2011.

Using ChatON's functionality, users can create their own animated message by hand-writing text , adding audio, and choosing their background picture. Additionally, each conversation window features a Trunk, keeping a running record of all multimedia items sent and received through the conversation.

ChatON's functionality across multiple platforms lets all users join in, with content in multiple formats shared instantly. Features such as Group Chat and Interaction Rank allow users to take further control of their social network.
