Mozilla Establishes Enterprise User Working Group

Mozilla will re-establish a Mozilla Enterprise User Working Group in an effort to bring Firefox browser closer to the enterprise.

Recently there's been a lot of discussion about enterprises and rapid releases of the Firefox browser, which make the browser less attractive to enterprise environments as it is difficult to system administrators to catch up with the frequent updates. IT departments have been chalenged to deliver lots of mission-critical applications through Firefox.

"Mozilla is fundamentally about people and we care about our users wherever they are. To this end, we are re-establishing a Mozilla Enterprise User Working Group as a place for enterprise developers, IT staff and Firefox developers to discuss the challenges, ideas and best practices for deploying Firefox in the enterprise. It will be a place to ask questions and get information about Mozilla plans," Mozilla announced today.

Mozilla added that the new group will have conversations on the discussion list and during in person meetings as well as during monthly phone meetings, which will focus on a topic. The upcoming meeting will discuss the release cycle and how enterprises can use Firefox in a way that fits into their own testing and release cycles.

Mozilla will also make summaries of the discussions publicly available.
