Today Seagate introduced the GoFlexAccess mobile device app for its GoFlex Home network storage system.

Now available for download from the iTunes Store and Android Market, this application can be found by searching for "Seagate" or "GoFlex" in either storefront using a computer or the app store on an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android compatible mobile device. The new GoFlexAccess App delivers a fast way to retrieve photos, movies, music and documents from anywhere while on-the-go with network access.

GoFlex Home network storage server is designed as a simple to set up shared storage drive, which provides back up and sharing capabilities within a home network and is also accessible using remote access from a personal computer. Today, with the introduction of these new mobile applications, GoFlex Home network drive has entered the world of mobile connectivity.

The benefits to having this network access are numerous:

- All of the shares on GoFlex Home, as well as all of the content stored elsewhere on the drive are now available from mobile devices;
- Create slideshows from photos in shares and play music at the same time to accompany it;
- Stream video to mobile devices over 3G/4G and WiFi
