Powered by WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and the Android 2.2 "Froyo" operating system, the Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 is equipped to give users access to apps, multimedia content and mobile services. VoIP support via Skype allows video calls over WiFi as well as free calls among Skype users, while access to social networking services like Twitter or Facebook keep users connected. A camera lets users shoot high-quality video or still images. Meanwhile, the Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 supports DivX HD, allowing high-definition video playback. Support for various codec standards including MPEG4, H264, DivX, XviD, WMV codecs

The Samsung GALAXY S WiFi 4.0 "Smart Player" fetures Samsung's SoundAlive technology for deeper bass and greater tone articulation. The phone also comes equipped with built-in stereo speaker.
