New Toshiba mini NB520 Netbook Offers High Quality Sound Through Harman Kardon Speakers


Toshiba Computer Systems, a division of Toshiba Europe GmbH, today unveiled two models of its new netbook family: the mini NB500 and the mini NB520, a model for users who want a slim and stylish netbook with enhanced sound features.

The mini NB520 is the world's first netbook with embedded premium speakers from Harman/Kardon. The mini NB500 and the mini NB520 will be available during the first quarter of 2011 throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Despite its diminutive size, the mini NB520 packs 2 watt Harman/Kardon stereo speakers and supports Dolby Advanced Audio.

The Sleep and Music feature allows users who've stored their favorite music tracks on a MP3 player to connect the gadget to the netbook and listen to the music through the speakers without turning the PC on .

As second member in Toshiba?s new netbook family, the mini NB500 is targeted at users who appreciate a slim, mobile device with basic computing consumption features at a competitive price. The mini NB500 is one of the thinnest and lightest netbooks on the market featuring an Intel Atom processor.



Toshiba mini NB520 features:

- HDD: up to 250 GB
- 25.7cm (10.1'') TruBrite display with LED backlight, 16:9, 1,024 x 600 pixels
- 3x USB 2.0 including one with Sleep and Charge, 2-in-1 Reader
- Wireless LAN (802.11 b/g/n), Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 2.1 (software upgrade to Bluetooth 3.0 will be available later)
- Harman/Kardon stereo speakers with 2 x 2 watts output, ~90dB maximum sound level
- Dolby Advanced Audio
- Sleep and Music via microphone port
- VGA web camera with microphone
- Battery life: up to 10 hours with 6 cell battery
