Lite-On Snaps Up HP`s Huge Order for Blu-ray DVD Players

Lite-On has reportedly landed a big order from HP for blu-ray DVD players, securing a strong growth drive for its sales in the second half of this year, the Taiwan Economic News reported today citing company sources.

Lite-On is already suppling half-height and slim models to Dell, Asus and Lenovo. The company is expected to produce HP's upcoming Blu-ray player, which will be available under the HP brand later this year.

Lite-On will also produce external 4x Blu-ray drives on behalf of Japanese Plextor. The drives will be delivered starting the third quarter of the year.
