Bufallo Ships Ultra Compact Portable DVD Burner

Buffalo plans to release the DVSM-PSS58U2-BK portable DVD super-multi burner next month in Japan. At the size of a CD case, the drive is probably the smaller DVD burner in the world.

Featuring a thin aluminum frame, the portable DVD burner measures just 131 x 130 x 14.5mm (W x D x H) and weighs 250g.

The supported writing speeds are 8x for DVDR/+RW, 6x for DVDR DL/-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM and 24x for CD-R/RW. The maximum reading speeds are 8x for DVDR/R DL/RW/-ROM and 24x for CD-R/RW/ROM.

The drive can be powered from a dual USB 2.0 bus power cable or an external AC source and will retail in Japan in June at a suggested retail price of 10,600 yen ($115)
