Microsoft's latest security update for Windows OS includes 5
patches rated as "critical"
The security updates resolve vulnerabilities in Windows Authenticode Verification, the SMB Client, the Media Services, the MPEG Layer-3 Codecs and the the Media Player. All these critical vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution, according to Microsoft.
The remaining software updates are rated as "important" and address vulnerabilities in Windows kernel, VBScript, Microsoft Office Publisher, Microsoft Exchange and Windows SMTP Service and Microsoft's Visio software.
