Nvidia Reveals GF100 Product Models

Nvidia has finally unveiled the naming of its first GeForce graphics cards for desktops based on the highly anticipated GF100 GPU.

According to an online post found at the company's Facebook page, GeForce GTX 480 and GeForce GTX 470 will be the names of the first two GPUs shipped based on the company's new GF100 chip.

Nvidia's new graphics cards are expected to take advantage of the new architecture (Fermi) of the GF100 chip, which mainly give the GF100 increased computing and geometry processing capabilities. However, gaming performance might not be very much higher than with current AMD offerings.

The cards are expected to be released some time this quarter.
