Acer to Release Second Google Android Handset


Acer will release its second handset using Google?s Android operating system this quarter, with the device to be manufactured by Foxconn.

Foxconn will join Compal Communications as a manufacturer of Acer?s Android handset, according to a Bloomberg's report. Foxconn's clients also include Motorola and Nokia Oyj.

Acer plans to release five smartphones this year and expects Android-based models will account for a growing share of its handset sales.
