Sonic Solutions Brings Movies to Open Screen Project

Sonic Solutions today announced that it has joined the Open Screen Project, an industry-wide initiative led by Adobe.

Sonic's participation in the Open Screen Project and support for the Adobe Flash Platform will enable manufacturers of connected devices including televisions, set-top boxes, mobile phones and other consumer electronics to incorporate and deploy entertainment services powered by Roxio CinemaNow such as those offered by Best Buy and Blockbuster.

Led by Adobe, the Open Screen Project includes close to 50 companies working together to provide a runtime environment across mobile phones, desktops, and other consumer electronics devices. The initiative addresses the challenges of Web browsing on a broad range of devices, and removes the barriers to publishing content and applications seamlessly across screens.
