Amazon Introduces Disc+ On Demand

Amazon has launched a new promotion that will offer free access to on demand versions of certain films when you buy them on DVD or Blu-ray.

"Disc+ On Demand" comes with selected DVD and Blu-ray titles. When you buy one of these movie titles from Amazon.com you will also receive an Amazon Video On Demand standard definition version as a gift with purchase.

The digital versions come courtesy of Amazon's Video On Demand service, and can be streamed from their website, or downloaded to a PC, certain portable devices, your TV or Tivo.

When you purchase a Disc+ On Demand Blu-ray or DVD Amazon will automatically add the digital version to Your Video Library. Then you should visit Your Video Library at www.amazon.com/videoondemand/library and sign in to your account. Choose "Watch Now" for instant viewing access through your web browser or "Download" to see a list of download locations and available copies of the video.

If you're interested in getting digital versions of the titles you buy, simply for the Disc+ On Demand message on the detail pages of your favorite Movies and TV shows. When you purchase the Blu-ray or DVD from Amazon.com the Amazon Video On Demand standard definition version will be automatically included as a gift with purchase.

Disc+ On Demand includes the Amazon Video On Demand standard definition version. The video quality we deliver will depend on your internet connection. Amazon will automatically detect your connection speed and send you the highest quality stream your connection can support. The steam quality will be displayed on the video player.

Amazon supports a minimum connection speed of 450 Kbits/sec but recommends a connection speed of 1.5 Mbits/sec or higher.

Due to licensing restrictions, the Amazon Video On Demand service is only available to Amazon's customers located in the United States.
