Nintendo to Release New DSi With Bigger Screen

Nintendo will soon launch a large-screen version of its DSi game console in Japan, a report said Tuesday.

The new model will reportedly have a screen size twice as big as the existing version, by the end of the year, the Nikkei business daily said, adding the company was also considering overseas sales.

A bigger screen could allow elderly people use the handheld device easier, while leading to new applications such as reading electronic books and watching video.

The existing version of the DSi comes with 3.25-inch screens.
