Acer Introduces New Aspire 3-D Laptop


Acer today has officially announced the new Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165, a 15.6-inch screen laptop for movie and game fans featuring a a 3-D screen.

The new laptop is able to display specific 3D games and movies with the help of special glasses. Without the glasses, specific content can be viewed in 3D using the bundled TriDef software and the contribution of the laptop's special 3D layer on top of the screen.

The Aspire 5738DG-6165 costs $779 (3D glasses included) and it is capable enough for most users not looking for a screaming gaming rig, powered by an Intel 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB of RAM, and ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphics. Other features include the 5.6-inch 1366 x 768 resolution screen, a 320GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and a DVD player. Power comes from a 6-cell li-ion battery with 4400mAh of power. he machine will ship this week.

Sharp had also introduced a 3D laptop in 2003 capable of working without glasses, although the 3D effect was close to what you get from a 3-D postcard.

Nvidia has already released a 3D kit for desktop gamers selling for a $200.
