U-TECH Accepts CrystalLine Mastering System for Single and Dual Layer Blu-ray Discs

The SINGULUS MASTERING's CrystalLine mastering system installed at U-TECH Media Corporation has passed its Final Acceptance Test, the companies annoucned today.

The system was installed during the summer, and made its first masters within 10 days. Further tuning of the machine resulted in the first acceptance runs three weeks later. It is the first CrystalLine in Asia for Blu-ray Disc mastering.

"The CrystalLine will prolongate U-TECH's decades of experience in optical media into the third generation. U-TECH and SINGULUS are already business partners for many years. We believe that SINGULUS MASTERING has created a unique machine and is the company that will support us in becoming the leading high-quality Blu-ray Disc manufacturer in Taiwan." says Bill Lo, President Global Sales Business Unit of U-TECH Media Corporation.

According to Rick Uitdehaag?s statements, Director of Sales for Asia Pacific of SINGULUS MASTERING, the evaluation done by U-TECH was thorough and sometimes even challenging for SINGULUS MASTERING technical staff, resulting in better understanding of source material requirements, the PTM (Phase Transition Mastering) process itself and its properties, especially when compared to traditional glass mastering using photo resist.

"The fact that U-TECH Media Corporation now operates a CrystalLine shows the need for independent manufacturing of Blu-ray Disc in the Far East" states Rick Uitdehaag.

U-TECH Media Corporation offers turnkey Blu-ray Disc (both single and dual layer) in-house production service including compression, editing, authoring, mastering, replication, printing material, packaging, warehousing, etc.
