CyberLink PowerDVD 9's TrueTheater Technology Promises HD-like Quality for Standard-Definition DVDs

CyberLink introduced TrueTheater Technology in PowerDVD 9, a technology that upscales standard-definition DVDs to almost HD quality.

CyberLink TrueTheater technology includes 'TrueTheater HD' that enables watching standard-definition content such as DVDs in a quality as sharp and as detailed as high-resolution video up to 1080p, 'TrueTheater Motion for smoother video playback through frame-rate up-conversion from 24 fps to 60 and 72 fps, and 'TrueTheater Lighting' for more vivid images by enhancing image details. In addition, 'TrueTheater Stretch displays content on 16:9 widescreen monitors, regardless of the source ratio and delivers natural results by leaving the center of the screen unaffected, while the 'TrueTheater Surround' technology promises to offer surround sound quality even on conventional stereo speakers or headphones.

CyberLink PowerDVD 9 featuring TrueTheater Technology is available online and in retail stores, starting at $49.95.
