Panasonic and Samsung Invest in SiBEAM For Wireless HD


SiBEAM, Inc.has announced the strategic investment by Panasonic and Samsung for the development of SiBEAM's WirelessHD semiconductor products.

"Panasonic and Samsung?s investments signal their commitment to SiBEAM?s solutions, designed for wireless high definition content transfer. The support of leading LCD and plasma manufacturers will serve to further energize our product lines and will have a profound impact on our consumer electronics business," said John LeMoncheck, President and CEO of SiBEAM.

SiBEAM?s chipsets with OmniLink60 technology operate in the 60GHz band and represent the world?s first to be developed and produced in CMOS. It is the first solution based on WirelessHD technology and designed for the streaming uncompressed and lossless high definition video, audio and data at a 4Gbps. SiBEAM is also a founding member of the WirelessHD Consortium.
