Apple to Unveil New Laptops Next Week

Apple is expected to unveil ne

Accroding to speculations, Apple is expected to lower the prices of its cheapest notebook computer to below $1,000, or it could refresh the line with laptops in aluminum casings. October 14 has been widely rumored for several weeks now as the official date for Apple's update to the MacBook and MacBook pro line, possibly with new 15 and 13-inch models.

The event will be taking place at Apple's Town Hall in Cupertino on October 14, 10am Pacific Time.

Apple's move to lower the prices of its notebooks could have sense, since many notebook makers have announced small factor notebooks for internet browsing lately (netbooks). In addition, there is a general pressure on concerns that the financial crisis could hurt consumer demand for electronics, especially in the run-up to the crucial end-year holiday season.
