Mozilla set an official date for the release of the new Firefox 3 browser.
"After more than 34 months of active development, and with the contributions of thousands, we?re proud to announce that we?re ready," reads Mozilla's announcement. "It is our expectation to ship Firefox 3 this upcoming Tuesday, June 17th."
A fifth beta version of the browser came out earlier this month.
Additions boost security and allow users to run Web sites when they are not connected to the Internet. Mozilla also says Firefox 3 uses less computer memory than Firefox 2.
Mozilla is in a battle with Microsoft, which unveiled an experimental version of its Internet Explorer 8 in Las Vegas in March.
