Enjoy Blu-ray Disc Playback for Less Than €150


Pioneer's Blu-ray 'combo' drives for your home computer, which play Blu-ray disc movies and write to DVD now cost less than €150.

A retail package of the drive called the BDC-S02 is available to purchase. The package includes bundled software to enable the playback of Blu-ray disc movies and the creation and playback of DVD and CDs. The drive is currently available through on-line stores and Pioneer's distributors.

As well displaying HD content, the Blu-ray Combo drive also records to DVD, taking care of applications such as creating image libraries and MP3 catalogues, to home movie and system back-ups.

Write speeds include:

12X for DVD-R and DVD+R
6X to DVD-RW and DVD+RW
4X to DVD-R Dual Layer and DVD+R Double Layer media
5X to DVD-RAM
24X to CD-R and CD-RW media types.
