LaCie Unveils 4TB Quadruple Interface, 4-Disk RAID for Professional-Level Data Storage

LaCie today unveiled the Biggest Quadra, a quadruple interface, 4-disk RAID solution for creative workstations.

The solution delivers data storage protection, massive 4TB (terabyte) capacity and universal compatibility through its FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB 2.0 and eSATA interfaces.

The Biggest Quadra is ideal for many applications including rapid storage and retrieval for audio/video and creative professionals. The system supports RAID levels 0, 0+1 and 5, as well as RAID 5+. In addition, the Biggest Quadra reacts to drive, fan or power failure, and will even shut down if temperatures rise above 55 degrees Celsius (131 degrees Fahrenheit). Should a drive fail, insertion of a new drive automatically rebuilds data without any downtime.

The LaCie Biggest Quadra will be available in September for 2TB and October for the 3TB and 4TB versions. Suggested retail price will be $1099 for 2TB, $1599 for 3TB and $2199 for 4TB.
