MKM Releases New Packaging For DVD for Video DVD Media

Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd. will completely change the packaging on its DVD for video products from the beginning of October, with the aim of making it easier for customers to choose the right product.

DVDs are now used daily in many homes as recording media. However, there are many different types of DVDs available, such as those that are able to record digital broadcasts and those that cannot, and single-sided double-layer DVDs that can record many hours, etc., and numerous consumers complain that it is difficult to choose the proper type for their use when making a purchase. Mitsubishi Kagaku Media has therefore color-coded the packing according to the type of DVD, and will display the disc specifications, (such as the recording speed) on a black strip on the right-hand side of the packaging, creating a design that allows the consumer to understand the type of DVD at a glance. In particular, there are now three different categories for the high-demand DVD-R: those that can record digital broadcasts, those that cannot, and single-sided dual-layer DVDs (DVD-R DL).

In addition to the above advantages, all the ?need to know before purchasing? information requested from our customers will be displayed on the reverse side of the package, such as whether or not there is an index card, and whether or not the specifications are shown on the rim of the DVD label, etc.
