Osram Exits OLED Business

Osram Opto Semiconductors has suspended its organic light emitting diode (OLED) business, due to the unexpected stagnancy in the OLED-based display business.

An official at the company noted, "We have failed to achieve our original goal," and "Instead, we will be concentrating on the OLED lighting solutions with our OLED technology."

The company has rolled out passive matrix OLED (PMOLED) displays since 2003.
