AMD Announces Price Cut For Athlon Processors


AMD today slashed prices by as much as 30 percent on its Athlon 64 X2 dual-core microprocessor series.

The top-of-the-line Athlon 64 X2 6000+ drops from $241-per-unit to $178. The price of an Athlon 64 X2 4000+ is cut from $104 to $73.

Regarding AMD's Athlon 64 FX series, the company's FX-74 3GHz dual core CPU will be available for $599 dollars, a significant $200 discount compared to the previous price.
