Toshiba Adds HD DVD Drive and Intel Duo Processor Technology to Satellite P205


Toshiba?s Digital Products Division (DPD) today announced the latest Satellite P205 desktop replacement notebooks, featuring an HD DVD-ROM optical drive and the latest Intel Centrino Duo processor technology.

Equipped with an HD DVD-ROM drive, the Satellite P205-S6347 gives users the option of watching high-definition content at a resolution of 720p on its 17-inch widescreen display. In terms of sound, the Satellite P205 is equipped with Dolby Sound Room technology, which delivers virtual surround sound from stereo speakers or any pair of headphones and is designed for environments where multiple surround speakers are neither practical nor possible. Dolby Sound Room is made up of three technologies: Dolby Digital, Dolby Headphone and Dolby Virtual Speaker.

Each Satellite P205 notebook comes standard with a built-in Webcam and microphone to allow users to communicate with distant friends and family. Additionally, the Satellite P205 notebook series features an Onyx Blue Metallic lid, a newly designed rounded body design, a full-size keyboard and a widescreen mouse touchpad.

Intel Centrino Duo processing technology consists of several primary components including the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, the Mobile Intel 965 chipset and the new Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN supporting draft 802.11n1 wireless connectivity.

The Satellite P205-S6347 is available at www.toshibadirect.com and a variety of consumer electronics and computer stores in the U.S. with a starting price of $1449.992. Other configurations of the Satellite P205 notebook series, such as the Satellite P205-S6337 and Satellite P205-S6347, are available with prices starting at $999.992.
