Samsung to Operate 8th Generation LCD Line Next Month


Samsung will start operating the 8th generation production facility from July earlier than its schedule.

Samsung's 8th generation production line is optimized to mass produce 52inch LCD TV panels.

Samsung also plans to invest in building the 2nd production lines after the first mass production of the 8th generation LCD TV panels, IT Korea News report.

Samsungs's 8th generation glass panel (2500?2200) can produce 6 pieces of 52 inch TV panels, two times faster than the 7the generation production line. This could leas to a further price drop in the price of 50-inch LCD TVs.

Samsung claims that it will be able to offer 52-inch LCD panels for $1000 less than today, as the production output accelearte by the end of next year.
