Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Earns Vista Certification

Roxio today announced that all core components of Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 have achieved Windows Vista Certification through the premium logo program.

The latest version of Roxio?s digital media suite offers support for portable entertainment devices, high-definition video editing tools, and audio creation and enjoyment features. The Windows Vista Certified version of Easy Media Creator 9 is now shipping to major retailers and e-stores and is available direct from Roxio at www.roxio.com.

The Certified for Windows Vista logo is a compatibility designation for applications and devices that have passed a rigorous testing program on computers that are running Windows Vista. The technical requirements for this designation target four core areas: reliability, security, compatibility with Windows Vista and future operating systems, and installation and removal.

In addition to working with Microsoft to certify Easy Media Creator, Sonic collaborated with the Windows Vista team to develop Roxio Central, one of the first applications that exploits the many benefits of Windows Presentation Foundation http://www.roxio.com/enu/promotions/landing/vista/preview/default.html. Sonic also provided its AuthorScript media engine, which enables CD and DVD burning functionality in Windows Vista.
