New Content Distributors Sign up to HD VMD Format in France


New Medium Enterprises (NME) announced today new deals with two major content distributors supplying to the French market.

Seven 7 and Metropolitan Filmexport?s will distribute their content on HD VMD, following the recent endorsement and backing of the European electronics distributor, MCA Technology.

The partnerships means that box office hits and new releases will be available on the HD VMD format with an initial 20 titles from each partner by September 2007 and 5 titles every month thereafter. NME also said that it would offer French consumers a special launch edition which would include a HD VMD player along with 5 free HD VMD movies plus a film catalogue with which consumers could make further orders. The recommended retail price of the bundle box will be €299 including VAT.

NME is expected to secure further partnerships with other French and European distributors and will be pursuing relationships with French based replicators.
