Corsair Expands Capacity of Flash Readout USB Drives to 8GB

The Corsair Flash Readout USB drive takes the benefits of USB Flash drives one step further by allowing users to label the drive with personal IDs and showing the remaining storage capacity via the embedded digital display, hence alleviating the need to plug the USB drive into the PC to verify content.

"The concept behind the Flash Readout drive is a simple one. With the growing number of consumers owning more than one USB drive, we wanted to introduce a product that will allow the users to visually see what is on the drive without having to plug it into the PC. The Flash Readout delivers exactly that - you can see available storage capacity and personalize it with names to keep content organized," said Richard Hashim, Director of Product Marketing at Corsair. "With HD content becoming more mainstream, consumers are demanding larger capacity flash drives to allow them to bring content on the go. Each 8GB Flash Readout USB drive has the equivalent storage capacity to hold the entire series of the Lord of the Rings movie!"

Flash Readout USB drives feature a Bi-stable Cholesteric Display (BCD) showing data usage and availability. These drives have a customizable label that users can personalize and edit to identify the drives? contents. Flash Readout USB drives have been designed for users who demand aesthetics and advanced functionality in a small portable device. They feature an 11 character alphanumeric label display, a pie chart to indicate disk space usage and a four digit display showing available storage space. The BCD display retains and displays information for up to one year without the use of a battery.
