Check Backward Compatibility of PS3 With Legacy Games

Sony decided to open a website that allows users to search for legacy games to see if they are compatible with their new PS3 console.

Normally, Sony's PS3 game console is backward compatible with game titles for PS2 and the original Playstation. At least this is what Sony claimed in its initial statements. However, the company admitted later that during last-minute testing of the PS3, more than 100 older titles had problems, ranging from minor, specific issues to entire incompatibility.

Sony said that, over time, the problems will be resolved through firmware updates. If you have a PS3 console and want to see see if any major problems have been reported for your old game titles, visit Sony's website and submit your query.
