Ubisoft Announces Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas Online Challenge

Today Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas Challenge, an online video game tournament sponsored by Gamestop and EB Games, Future U.S., Inc. and Dodge.

The tournament kicks off December 27 and will pit four-player teams against each other to battle it out in the exciting Vegas locations featured in the highly anticipated first-person shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The tournament will be held on the Xbox Live online game service and will culminate in an online championship on January 28, 2007. The winning player will take home an all-new 2007 Dodge Nitro.

"The Rainbow Six franchise revolutionized the way people played console games online and it remains one of the hottest franchises on Xbox Live," said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. "Ubisoft is thrilled to be bringing its partners and the Rainbow Six fan base together to celebrate the launch of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas with this very exciting online tournament."

Ubisoft, Dodge and GameStop EB Games partnered with Future U.S., Inc. to create an integrated media campaign involving print, online and demo discs to promote Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, the online tournament and the all-new 2007 Dodge Nitro. Future's new U.S. Web site, www.gamesradar.com, will prominently feature tournament news and information in the weeks leading up to and during the event. Future's U.S. games magazines, Official Xbox Magazine, PC Gamer, and PSM: Independent PlayStation Magazine will advertise the tournament, and a special 30-second trailer highlighting the Challenge will be featured on demo discs included with copies of Official Xbox Magazine and PC Gamer magazine.

"Future's relationships with Ubisoft and Dodge made this partnership a perfect match for us," stated Simon Whitcombe, Group Publisher, Future U.S. "Future is uniquely positioned to deliver the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas Challenge message to the 18 to 34 year-old game playing demographic."

GameStop and EB Games retail stores will feature the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas Challenge hourly in its 3,600 U.S. locations, as well as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas banners and in-store displays. Ubisoft also partnered with Prima Games to create a special Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas Challenge strategy guide that will be available free of charge, exclusively at GameStop and EB Games stores while supplies last.

"Ubisoft has been a leader in developing comprehensive online tournaments that engage video game enthusiasts and tangibly build the gaming community," said Tom DeNapoli, Vice President, Marketing, GameStop Corp. "We are excited to bring our passionate army of gamers to this exciting event."
