Dell Announced Powerfull XPS 710 Desktop and UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC

Dell today announced two new high-performance technology platforms for gamers and enthusiasts: the company's most powerful and expandable consumer desktop and its first 30-inch widescreen flat panel monitor featuring 92 percent color gamut.

The Dell XPS(TM) 710 can be built to order with the new Intel Core(TM) 2 Extreme QX6700 quad-core processor option, which can deliver up to 55 percent better performance than an Intel Core 2 Extreme dual-core processor. The XPS 710's performance enables customers to easily run next-generation multi-threaded games or multimedia applications, high-definition video, or simultaneously watch movies and stream music from the same PC. Multi-threaded applications can take advantage of the quad-core chip's ability to control multiple tasks at once.

The XPS 710 also has room to grow, with four memory slots, bays for four hard drives and two optical drives, and seven expansion slots for single and dual graphics cards and hi-fi sound.

The latest addition to Dell's award-winning line of flat panel monitors, the Dell UltraSharp(TM) 3007WFP-HC raises the bar even higher for gaming and multimedia entertainment and productivity. The Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC features 92 percent color gamut, an enhancement that delivers the latest in dynamic color technology to make colors richer and more realistic for a dramatic gaming experience.

Today, most monitors feature color gamut covering 72 percent of the NTSC color space. The new Dell 30-inch monitor increases the coverage to 92 percent of the NTSC color space utilizing a Wide Cold-Cathode Fluorescent Lighting (W-CCFL) backlight that delivers gamers, photographers and digital media "prosumers" highly vibrant and vivid images such as deeper reds and crisper blues. The wider color spectrum expands capabilities for users whether they are editing video, working with CAD applications or enjoying the latest games.

Additional features of the Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC include 2,560 x 1,600 (WQXGA) resolution, 8-millisecond typical response time, height-adjustable stand with tilt and swivel capabilities, integrated 9-in-2 media card reader, and four USB 2.0 ports for connecting devices such as digital cameras and printers.

The XPS 710 looks every bit as powerful as it is, built on a jet engine-inspired chassis that recently earned the international 2006 Good Design and the CES Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering awards, and exemplifies Dell's emphasis on design excellence.

The new system is Microsoft Windows Vista(TM) Premium-Ready. Dell's Express Upgrade program makes it easy to install the Vista upgrade when it becomes available. For more information visit www.dell.com/vista.

The XPS 710 is available immediately worldwide. Prices start at $3,699 for the Jet Black chassis with an Intel Core 2 Extreme Q6700 processor, 750-watt power supply and two-year limited XPS warranty with prioritized support queue. The Special Edition Formula Red model with 1-kilowatt power supply and the same processor and warranty support starts at $3,799.

The Dell Ultrasharp 3007WFP-HC is available in the U.S. on Nov. 21 with a starting price of $1,699.
