Palmsource officially changes name to Access


Last year, PalmSource was acquired by Access Co., Ltd., and has functioned as a wholly owned subsidiary of that company since November

Today, PalmSource has announced that it has started the process of changing its name to "Access." It has been known for some time that PalmSource was going to have to change its name. Last year, before being acquired, this company sold all the rights to the "Palm" brand to Palm, Inc. This is why the next generation of the Palm OS is being called the Access Linux Platform (ALP). A New Web Site In addition, Access has just launched a new global web site that combines the information previously available on the standalone PalmSource and Access web sites. This can be found at www.access-company.com. A New Logo, Too Access is also unveiling a new company logo today. According to the company, this was designed to highlight Access and PalmSource coming together as one, as it includes two shades of blue associated with both.
