Fujitsu Siemens Computers Statement to Sony's Battery Replacement Program

To date, the company has not been alerted to any Sony battery-related incidents involving Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebooks

Following the announcement of Sony's battery replacement program on September 28, 2006, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is working closely with Sony and Fujitsu to identify which Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebooks could potentially be affected.

As customer satisfaction and safety are extremely important to the company, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has decided to cooperate with Sony's voluntary battery replacement program.

Should internal research and information provided by Sony unfold that and which Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebooks are affected, the company plans to offer voluntary replacement of Sony-made batteries in Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebooks. Following further consultation with Sony and Fujitsu, details regarding the voluntary replacement program will be announced separately.

For further information, please see Sony Corporation's English-language press release: Sony to Initiate Global Replacement Program for Notebook Computer Battery Packs; www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press/200609/06-090E/index.html
