ATI Catalyst v6.4 Available For Download

ATI released the latest set of its Catalyst drivers for WinXP.

This particular software suite updates both the ATI Display Driver (version 8.241), and the Catalyst Control Center (version 6.4). This unified driver has been further enhanced to provide the highest level performance, and reliability.

The software includes improvements in the video quality, as well as a new utility that allows users to convert video content that is recorded by Windows Media Center.

Improvements have been made to the Avivo video processing engine during standard definition (SD) video playback. Noise reduction algorithms are improved to ensure original detail is preserved, while removing unwanted noise.

Catalyst 6.4 introduces a Windows MCE Video Conversion utility. This utility allows users to convert video content that is recorded by MCE, or video content that is available to MCE, to variety of different formats. The video content can be converted to MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP, MPEG-4 AVC and Windows Media. Ipod Video and PSP video are listed as separate formats for easy recognition.

The complete release notes for the new software are available here.
