Ritek announced Thusday it obtained certification for 8x DVD+R DL discs from Philips.

Ritek is the third company to receive such certification, following Japanese Mitsubishi Kagaku Media and Ricoh.

Japan-based Fujiwara-Rothchild forecasts that global demand for DVD+R/-R DL discs will rocket from 50 million discs in 2005 to 200 million this year, and Ritek aims to occupy 70% of the 2006 global market, Ritek indicated.
