ASUS introduced the EAX1600 series, which includes the EAX1600XT SILENT/TVD/256M and EAX1600PRO/TD/256M graphics cards.

The series incorporates the ATI Radeon X1600 series VPU (video processing unit) and adopts a fanless cooling solution. It consist of two copper heat-pipes and a large heat sink on the backside of the graphics card, placing them directly in the airflow path of the CPU fan for fast heat dissipation.

The EAX1600XT SILENT/TVD/256M features a 590MHz core clock along with 256MiB of GDDR3 running at 1.38GHz. The EAX1600Pro/TD/256M clocks in at 500MHz with 256MiB of GDDR3 at 780MHz.
