World's Fastest DVD Rewritable Discs Now Available

Memorex is once again at the forefront of the industry's latest DVD technology. Memorex's new 8X DVD+RW media delivers the fastest rewrite speeds and highest performance available to consumers.

Ideally suited for consumers who depend on these discs to rewrite home movies, favorite music, family photos and important data, Memorex 8X DVD+RW media delivers all of this in half the time of 4X media. With Memorex's award-winning DVD burners, consumers can rewrite a full disc - a full two hours of video - in less than eight minutes! Memorex 8X DVD+RW discs store 4.7 GB of video, photo, music or data files.

Memorex leads the DVD+RW media category with more than 45 percent market share through the first quarter of 2005 based on unit sales, according to The NPD Group. This is almost four times greater than the number two vendor. In 2004, Memorex was number one in the +RW category for the third year in a row. Memorex also leads in the DVD+R category with 23 percent unit share, two times that of the number two vendor.

"Consumers are widely adopting the use of DVD recorders, and they need the highest performing optical media to meet their DVD recording needs," said Brad Yeager, director of product marketing, optical media. "With our 8X DVD+RW media, Memorex is once again bringing the latest recording technology to the consumer marketplace."

Memorex is a DVD+RW Products Promotion Group (DPPG) member of the DVD+RW Alliance, a group of industry-leading personal computing, optical storage and electronics manufacturers committed to developing and promoting a universally compatible, rewritable DVD format to enable true convergence between personal computing and consumer electronics products. Memorex also offers more DVD+R/+RW package configurations than any other retail brand of media.

Pricing and Availability
Memorex 8X DVD+RW discs will be available in retail stores nationwide in August. A five-pack of discs will be available for a suggested retail price of $9.99 per pack.
