ATI CrossFire Supports Intel 955X

ATI Technologies has released CrossFire-compatible dual graphics card drivers to support Intel 955X chipsets, scheduled to hit the market in August.

The Intel 955X Express Chipset offers support for the Intel dual-core processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology, adding intelligence to help manage and prioritize four software threads simultaneously. Additionally, this chipset supports Intel Memory Pipeline Technology (Intel MPT), up to 8 GB memory addressability to help enable 64-bit computing, and ECC memory support. The 955X supports the Pentium D and Pentium Extreme Edition processors.

Asus, Gigabyte and Intel is among the companies that will introduce new motherboards incorporating a CrossFire-enabled 955x chipset.
