Droppix announced today the availability of version 1.5 of its next-generation CD and DVD creation software, Droppix Recorder.

Version 1.5 introduces several new features, additional helpful assistants, support for DVD-R DL (dual layer), improved management of multi-session discs, and support for more CD and DVD drives. As always, Droppix Recorder is available for a free 30-day full-featured trial download.

Integrated File Explorer
Droppix Recorder now features an integrated file explorer that lets you easily browse your workstation and add files to your projects.

Support for DVD-R DL
This new version of Droppix Recorder adds full support for the new DVD-R DL (dual layer) format.

Search and Find & Replace Assistants
Two new assistants are now included in Droppix Recorder. The first, a Search Assistant, lets you find files and folders within complex projects. The second, a Find & Replace Assistant, lets you quickly and easily change file and folder names within your projects and includes support for wildcard searches.

Exclusion Filters
File archiving capabilities have also been improved in Droppix Recorder through new Exclusion Filters. Exclusion Filters let you specify file types that will be automatically excluded from projects during the batch file addition process. Exclusion Filter configurations can be saved and reused in future projects.

Support for new CD and DVD burners
