Maxtor Unveils 500GB Hard Disk


Maxtor announced that the company will be shipping its next-generation 3.5-inch 7200RPM 3.0Gb SATA and ATA 133 hard drives with capacity points up to 500GB in the third quarter of this year.

The new 500GB hard drives will include a host of new features to provide significant improvements in areas such as performance, thermal optimization, data management and security, interface and AV stream detection. The 500GB hard drives will also be RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant.

Availability
The Maxtor 500GB hard drives will be available and shipping in Q3 2005.
