Enjoy Dual Core CPU with MSI 955X Platinum

MSI, one of the world's leading computer motherboard manufacturers, today announced its latest product - the MSI 955X Platinum motherboard with dual-core support.

MSI 955X Platinum with Dual-core Support

MSI 955X Platinum motherboard is built on Intel 955X and ICH7R chipset, which supports LGA775 Pentium 4 Prescott processor, Pentium D with FSB 1066MHz or 800MHz and Celeron D processors. The main difference compare with the old Intel 925/915 series is the new 955X chipset motherboard can fully support all the Intel's Dual Core processors such as the 820, 830 and 840 families and the highest Pentium 4 Extreme Edition series processors like P4EE 840.

Built on dual channel DDR2 667 memory architecture with one PCI Express 16x graphics interface and two PCI-E 1x slot. The ICH7R chip supports not only PCI Express x1 expansion slots and 9.1 High Definition Audio with Dolby quality, but also Intel Matrix Storage RAID Technology. Intel Matrix Storage Technology combines the advantages of conventional RAID 0 and RAID 1, and the newer RAID 5 for best cost / performance rate. It provides new level of protection, performance and future upgradeability. RAID 0 configurations can improve performance, whilst RAID 1 can improve protection of data, or you can use 3 similar models of HHD on RAID 5 for additional HDD capabilities and protection.

The technical expertise of MSI engineering team created the 955X Platinum to support dual channel DDR2 733 and higher with unlocked Intel processor or asynchronous FSB frequency. The VIA RAID controller provides IDE devices which are better and flexible plus two more extra IDE interfaces. Users can configure it as RAID 0, 1, 0+1 or JBOD. Also we build 4 SATA2 RAID to build high quality RAID. In addition, the E-SATA bracket allows user to add more SATA drives on this wonderful motherboard.

Highly Qualified for System Testing

To achieve our commitment to produce the finest quality, 955X Platinum motherboard is designed with 4-phase circuit that can tolerate higher power processors and uses only Japanese-made capacitors. The following DDR memory modules such as QI, Samsung, Infineon, Micron, Hynix, Elpida, Kingston, Corasir, GeIL and Transcend have been validated to work properly with MSI's 995X Platinum motherboard. Every single memory chip that can be found on Intel's official website is also included. MSI lab will continue to collect and validate components and peripherals. All the latest test results will be updated on MSI product webpage.

The arrival of the 955X chipset in the second quarter of 2005 is a decade of transition in high performance platform. Intel will provide Dual Core Processors on Pentium D family for Socket 775 that will boost system performance up to 50% faster. The DDR2 667 memory architecture is also higher than the old DDR2 533 and the new PCI Express x 16 graphics interface is broader than the PCI Express x1 expansion slot. The promise of a new era has finally arrived! Users can now experience the ultimate in performance with 64 bit and Dual Core technology. The MSI 955X Platinum motherboard is designed to deliver an ultimate solution with unprecendented performance ad rock-solid stability.

High Quality DOLBY Master Studio Audio

Based on the new Intel platform design, the ICH7 series is built with a better quality audio codec and certified by DOLBY surround sound for music and movies. Satisfying all users' need, the MSI 955X Platinum supports the DOLBY Master Studio to provide 9.1 channel DOLBY audio output and 5 audio jacks. Users can customize their own sound settings to enjoy remarkably rich, room-filling sound.

Flying with DOT Express technology

Traditionally, MSI develops exclusive ASIC chip for its own features. MSI CoreCell chip represents MSI serial MS-5, MS-7, MS-8 and more chips. Coming soon is the MS-10 with more incredible functions such as BIOS control option under Cell Menu, new D.O.T. Express (Dynamic Overclocking Technology Express) for higher dynamic overclocking, users will definitely enjoy the dynamic overclocking power without the hassle of any BIOS setting or software. MSI will also provide a built-in hardware monitor software called CoreCenter to make user understand the system status more easily.

The SafeBIOS (BIOS Automatic Recovery) and V Power (CPU Voltage Precisely Compensation Mechanism) is also the backup design like an airbag on MSI 955X Platinum.

SafeBIOS will automatically restore BIOS from backup area, whenever it fails during BIOS update or virus attack. Compared to other competitors, MSI uses only one BIOS ROM instead of two to solve this problem.

Meta I/O- The complete rear I/O option for supporting all external accessories. It includes all types of SPDIF, Coaxial, and Optical connectors from IEEE 1394 to DV camcorder, and supports 7.1 channel surround sound and high definition audio.

Communication Slot is an optimized and extended version of the basic PCI specification that can provide ultimate interface for PCI network cards. MSI has developed proprietary Dual-Net card exclusively for communication slot(s) which combine 802.11g wireless networking and Bluetooth technology. This add-on card with antenna offers convenient connection to most wireless devices.

Unless you have extra dollars to spare, MSI's Wireless LAN card is tailored for the budget-minded consumer. It eliminates the cost of physical access point and IP sharing device. You can actually upgrade your PC system into a home server or digital entertainment for your family to enjoy.
