NEC-Mitsubishi begins operations as NEC Display Solutions

NEC Display Solutions of America Inc., a stand-alone vendor of flat panel desktop displays, today announced its official return of operations under NEC.

The business under the former joint venture with Mitsubishi, now renamed NEC Display Solutions, will look to take advantage of the NEC brand, the company said.

"We are thrilled to be back in the fold with one of the largest and most respected technology companies in the world," said T.J. Trojan, president and COO of NEC Display Solutions, in a statement. "This move gives us great access and opportunity to build upon our display leadership and continue our current market achievements."

The company targets LCD displays in the consumer, business and digital signage markets.
