MSI introduces the new MSI K8N Diamond. The MSI K8N Diamond motherboard incorporates ultimate performance and rich features to meet the expectations of the most demanding users.

The MSI K8N Diamond supports nVidia's outstanding SLI technology and has integrated nVidia Active Armour controllers for secured connectivity. Moreover, this mainboard has an additional SATA2/300 controller for high transfer speeds and virtually unlimited storage space. Last, but not least, the onboard Creative audio chip supports 7.1 channel sound, and has Dolby Digital EX certification. MSI ActiveMOS2 technology cools down the motherboard for increased stability during extreme overclocking. The wireless connectivity of the MSI Dual-Net Card enclosed with the MSI K8N Diamond supports both 802.11b/g Wireless LAN and Bluetooth without interfering with each other.

SLI Technology

The MSI K8N Diamond is bundled with the MSI Dual-Net card. The MSI Dual-Net card combines 802.11g wireless networking with the MSI Bluetooth technology. It allows the user to save on the cost of a physical access point and IP sharing device. This add-on card with antenna offers a convenient connection to almost any wireless device.
MSI has developed a new MSI user interface called DigiCell, which helps users to start-up the access point and gateway with just two clicks.

SATA2/300 RAID
The MSI K8N Diamond has an additional SiliconImage SATA2/300 RAID controller on the PCI Express bus for increased storage capability. The SATA2/300 interface supports data transfer rates up to 300 MB/sec. The NVRAID 2.0 utility for nForce4 SATA2/300 RAID can also obtain unbeatable storage performance with SATA2/300 hard drives. Its scalability can configure the disk array across SATA and IDE hard drives to single-drive RAID as well.

Active Armor
The MSI K8N Diamond provides dual gigabit Ethernet onboard for great connectivity. One of the Gigabit LAN connections is on a PCI Express interface. The other one is powered by Nvidia Active Armor technology, a hardware network firewall engine to protect intrusion from the Internet. Compared to software protection, the Active Armor reduces CPU utilization by handling most of the steps in the inspection of network packets.

MSI ActiveMOS2
The MSI ActiveMOS2 is specially designed to improve the thermal solution on power circuit. The heatpipe and copper heatsink with Nickel-coating efficiently dissipate heat from the onboard MOS. The additional (removable) fan on the heatsink takes away the heat from extreme overclocking.
