The Double Density CD-R/RW drive by SONY and CD-R/RW corresponding media


SONY announced the Double Density (DD) CRX200E CD-R/RW drive which corresponds to the DDCD standard. The drive is supported by two new disc media, the DD-R 'CDQ13G1' and the DD-RW 'CDRW13G1'. The CRX200E is also compatible to the existing 650/700MB CD-R/RW media.

Max rewriting speed 8X
Max reading speed 32X
Buffer memory 8MB
ATAPI Interface
Average access time 150ms
The drive is compatible to the IBM PC/AT and the PC98-NX series under Windows 95/98/Me/NT 4.0/2000.
