InterVideo, began shipping WinRip(TM), its new MP3 player/encoder containing InterVideo's exclusive, patent-pending InterVideo Data Injection (IDI) technology. WinRip's unique data injection feature gives the music industry the ability to enhance MP3 music tracks with lyrics, links to URLs, artist biographies and much more, making music enjoyment a visual experience.
WinRip, which was first shown last November at Fall Comdex, also serves as the first audio component in InterVideo's new WinCinema(TM) integrated all-software suite for PC multimedia users. The suite brings a full complement of multimedia applications into one easy-to-use package, giving users a complete and robust multimedia solution that can control virtually all recording, editing, encoding, and playback needs.
The software, now available at Intervideo's Web site for $19.95, has all the features music aficionados look for from top-quality MP3 record/playback software. Users can also download a free trial version from the same location. WinRip offers rapid CD-to-MP3 file transfer, user-defined music file management, smart search capability (artist, genre, etc.), and DSP effects such as echo, surround, karaoke and tone control. WinRip also lets users change the look and feel of the product with a number of downloadable ``skins,'' and supports ``plug-in'' applications that enhance the playback environment with colorful graphics that respond to music tempo and dynamics.
Even more, WinRip users can click through to artist and special interest sites, MP3 portals and more via a number of hot links. When combined with several other elements of the WinCinema suite WinDVR(TM), WinDTV(TM), and InterVideo's award-winning signature product, WinDVD(TM) music and video lovers will enjoy a single, convergent environment for all major forms of entertainment media.
With IDI, artists and users alike can enter text or lyrics manually or import them from other sources. WinRip includes a simple editor to streamline the process of entering and synchronizing lyrics and other text. A special version of WinRip, available only to content producers, allows them to add additional value to their offerings through links to Web pages and other files. Biographies, anecdotes and historical background, production notes, tour dates and ticket outlets, special offers, music reviews, merchandise links and more can be linked to any MP3 file to increase listeners' enjoyment, all while maintaining the standard MP3 file format.
WinRip is expected to soon join its sister product WinDVD, the award winning PC-based DVD player, as a bundled component in PCs from major computer OEMs. The product is compatible with all Windows platforms including Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, and Millennium Edition
