Taiwan market: Retail prices of 16x DVD Dual DL burners drop


According to DigiTimes, in the Taiwan market, retail prices of 16x DVD Dual DL burners made by major local producers, including Lite-On IT, BenQ, Asustek Computer and Micro-Star International, fell to NT$2,600-2,800 (US$81-88) last week.

Hitachi-LG Data Storage (HLDS) and Toshiba-Samsung Storage Technology (TSST) also lowered the retail prices of 16x DVD Dual DL burners to NT$2,850-2,900 (US$89-91), while Pioneer and NEC made a downwards adjustment of prices to NT$2,950-3,000 (US$92-94).

In addition, retail prices of local-brand 12x DVD Dual burners slipped to NT$2,200-2,300 (US$69-72). Those of 8x DVD Dual burners dropped to NT$1,900 (US$59).
