Sharp to Begin Shipments of New Vodafone 902SH 3G/GSM Mobile Phones for Vodafone

Features Mobile Advanced Super View LCD and 2.02-Effective-Megapixel CCD Camera with 2X Optical Zoom.

Sharp will manufacture and start shipment of a new mobile phone developed for the Vodafone Group having a common design worldwide. The Vodafone 902SH features a 2.4-inch high-contrast wide-viewing-angle Mobile Advanced Super View LCD and a 2.02-effective-megapixel CCD camera with auto focus and 2X optical zoom.

This new handset features a large Mobile Advanced Super View LCD that takes full advantage of Sharp?s Advanced Super View LCD technology developed for our AQUOS*1 LCD TVs, enabling brighter and more vivid display with a contrast twice as high as previous models*2. The same technology delivers wide viewing angles (160° vertically and horizontally*3) with no color distortion even as the angle is changed. The Vodafone 902SH also supports voice communication, e-mail, Web services, and video calls*4 outside of Japan. It also has Bluetooth?*5 connectivity, which enables wireless data communications and hands-free conversations, supports 3G/GSM auto roaming, and more.

The Vodafone 902SH will be released by Vodafone K.K. in Japan on December 29, 2004.
